- Equal Qualification
All foreign applicants are subject to the same academic qualifications as Korean applicants.
- Nationality Requirement
Both parents must be non-Korean nationals. (Applicants are selected outside the regular quota through a separate screening process.)
- Language Proficiency
- Korean (TOPIK):
TOPIK Level 3 or higher
- English Proficiency (only for English-taught programs):
- TOEFL: PBT 550 / CBT 210 / iBT 80
- IELTS: 5.5 / New TEPS: 297 or higher
Applicants from countries where English is an official language may submit proof of higher education (undergraduate or graduate) completed in English in place of a test score.
- Conditional Admission (Language Training):
If language requirements are not met, applicants must complete 300 hours of Korean language training at the university’s Korean Language Institute within one year of admission.
Note: Failure to complete this training may result in enrollment restrictions.
- Graduation Requirement:
Must pass the Korean Language Proficiency Test before graduation (Exception: Applicants admitted to English-only programs)

- Credit Requirements
- Master’s Program: 24 credits (4 semesters minimum)
- Doctoral Program: 36 credits (5 semesters minimum)
- Degree Completion Criteria
- Pass foreign language test
- Pass major comprehensive examination
- Successfully complete thesis and final oral defense
- Complete research ethics education
- Fulfill other academic requirements set by the Graduate School
