Academic Regulations

Academic regulations outline the policies and procedures governing student conduct, course enrollment, grading, and degree completion. All students are responsible for understanding and adhering to these regulations throughout their studies.

Change of Academic Status

Change of department
  • The previous degree is limited to the same department (humanities and society/
    engineering),and approval from the graduate school director must be obtained after
    deliberation by the Graduate School Committee
  • You can apply for a change only once after completing the first semester and before
    registering for the second semester
  • Credits completed will be accepted only for courses that match the curriculum of the
    department you wish to transfer
  • You can apply for a change only once after completing the first semester and before
    registering for the second semester
  • Documents to be submitted : Department change officer (prescribed form), new and
    former head professor approval letter, transcript(department before change),
    graduation credit certificate(department after change)

Apply for a leave
of absence
  • You can apply on a yearly or semester basis, and you cannot exceed the
    aboce period of leave of absence
  • The number of times is not limited
Reasons for
taking a leave
of absence
  • If you are unable to take more than 1/3 of the number of school days in a
    semester dueto illness or other unavoidable reasons
  • Enlistment or service under the Military Service Act
  • When necessary to raise a child under the age of 8, or when you become
    pregnant or give birth
restrictions
  • New students, transfer students, and readmitted students cannot take a leave of
    absence during the first semester after admission.
Reinstatement How to apply
  • Integrated Information System > Application for leave of absence
  • After applying for a leave of absence, print out the school leave of absence and
    submit it to the graduate school teaching team after approval by the chief professor
  • Graduate School Office Approval > Leave of Absence
